CARRIED TO THE PALACE

Passage: 2 Samuel 9:5

TODAY’S SCRIPTURE
David sent some servants to bring Jonathan’s son from Lo-Debar. His name was Mephibosheth, and he was the grandson of Saul.
2 Samuel 9:5, CEV

Then king David sent, and fetched him out of the house of Machir, the son of Ammiel, from Lodebar.
2 Samuel 9:5, KJV

TODAY’S WORD
As a child, Mephibosheth had been crippled in an accident and could not walk. He was born into royalty, but his grandfather Saul and father, Jonathan, had been killed. Now he was living as an adult in Lo-Debar, one of the poorest, run-down cities of that day. When King David found out Mephibosheth was alive, he sent his men to carry Mephibosheth to the palace. He restored to Mephibosheth all the land that belonged to Saul and allowed Mephibosheth to live in the palace and sit at the king’s table. Mephibosheth couldn’t believe it. I love this picture of Mephibosheth being carried to the palace. God was showing us that even when life throws you a curve, when it’s unfair, when you are dealt a big setback, God is still going to carry you into your destiny. The right people, the right breaks, the favour, the promotion, are going to come looking for you. God has not forgotten about you. He’s going to carry you into your purpose, carry you into the palace, carry you into abundance, carry you into victory.

A PRAYER FOR TODAY
“FATHER, thank You for loving me and looking out for me because You want me to have all that belongs to me as Your child. Thank You that You found me and brought me to live with You in Your palace forever. I believe that You are carrying me all the days of my life and meeting my every need. In Jesus’ Name, Amen.”
