Passage: Job 1:10

TODAY’S SCRIPTURE
“Have you not put a hedge around him and his household and everything he has?”
Job 1:10, NIV

Hast not thou made an hedge about him, and about his house, and about all that he hath on every side? thou hast blessed the work of his hands, and his substance is increased in the land.
Job 1:10, KJV

TODAY’S WORD
In today’s Scripture, Satan wanted to test Job, but God had a hedge of protection around him. The enemy couldn’t just go in and overwhelm Job with adversity. This shows us that the enemy can’t touch you without God’s permission. Job loved God and walked in integrity, but he suffered all this trouble and lost his business, his health, his family. He got so discouraged that he sat down among the ashes. But at one point, Job got his passion back, looked up to the heavens, and said, “I know my Redeemer lives.” He was saying, “God, I don’t understand why this happened, but I trust You.” God not only restored Job’s health, but gave him double his possessions and a long and fulfilling life with his family. If you feel as though you’re sitting in the ashes, looking at what you lost, what didn’t work out, what you’re up against, you can know that God wouldn’t allow it if you weren’t going to come out better, stronger, healthier, more confident. Get ready. You’re going to say, “Look what the Lord has done.”

A PRAYER FOR TODAY
“FATHER, thank You for Your protection over my life. Thank You for watching over me and controlling my times of testing. I believe there is a hedge about me and that as I move forward, You will bring me out better off than I was before. I know that my Redeemer lives. In Jesus’ Name, Amen.”
